Department of Computer Applications (SF)

St George's college Aruvithura commenced the undergraduate Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) course during the academic year 2014. This programme with a batch strength of 38 students is affiliated to M.G. University, Kottayam.


Scope of the course


The syllabus for the programme provides a strong foundation to pursue a post-graduation programme in computer science/applications. The knowledge acquired by the students may also equip them to meet the needs of the industry.


Programme  Objective  


The programme is designed with the following specific objectives.

  • To attract young minds to the potentially rich & employable field of computer applications.
  • To be a foundation graduate programme which will act as a feeder course for higher studies in the area of  Computer Science/Applications.
  • To develop skills in software development so as to enable the graduates to take up self-employment in the Indian and global software market.
  • To Train and equip the students to meet the requirement of the IT industry

The strength of the faculty in the department is four. The faculty blends superbly the experience and expertise of luminaries with the drive, dynamism and innovation of youngsters, the depth and width of knowledge of academicians and the practical wisdom of professional managers.
