The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The aim of the NSS is to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service. The NSS unit of SGC (No.36) has been recognized both at the university and state level and it received the Best NSS Unit Award in 2016-17. In addition to the various community linked activities, this programme gives opportunities to the active volunteers in participating in National Integration Camp (NIC) Adventure Programmes, NSS Republic Day Parade Camp and a host of similar activities.
