The department of political science established in 1980 with the motto of maximum efforts, maximum knowledge and maximum realization. So far, 1580 students were graduated from the department of which 40 with university ranks including 13 first ranks.
A good number of Alumni who are present around the globe in various positions at different walks of life including world wrestling champion, government servants, college principals, IPS officers, elected representatives, a galaxy of legal professionals, international sports figures etc. Building a solid foundation in basic academic knowledge for the students is our prime vision with a strong emphasis on practical aspects of the knowledge for the benefit of our society. We continually encourage and help students to actively participate and get engage in different other areas like cultural and social activities.
Students play a prominent role and take the lead in organizing many innovative, interdisciplinary events and projects. They are encouraged to learn beyond the classroom through community development programmes, participation in the activities of local self government institutions which is the thrust area of the department. Under the auspices of political science association, meetings are arranged in which eminent personalities address the students.
The department conducts workshop, seminars, conferences and discussions that act as a boon for the budding political scientists. The department is very particular in inculcating the spirit of enquiry among the students and instills in them the attitude of enlighted citizenship.
