& Short method of composting (SMC).

Unit: III Spawn

Facilities required for spawn preparation, Preparation of spawn substrate, preparation of pure culture,

Media used in raising pure culture, Culture maintenance, Storage of spawn. Packing and Transport methods, Commercial types of spawns.

Unit: IV Casting materials

Importance of casing mixture, Quality parameters of casing soil, different types of casing mixtures,

commonly used materials. Preparation of casting material, importance of physicochemical properties.

Unit: V Cultivation of Paddy Straw Mushrooms

Introduction to paddy straw mushroom, Collection of raw materials, Compost & composting, Spawn & spawning, Casing & case run, Croping & crop management, Picking & packing. Bioeconomic
