The botany department is keen to conduct several curricular and extracurricular events on every year to enrich the students beyond classroom lectures. The events include field visits and lab visits of every year, seminars, invited lectures, PTA meetings etc..
Here is list of events (only one field visit and extracurricular event for each year is included the list)
1) 2016-17 One day national seminar was conducted on 10th February 2017 on the activities of National Innovation Foundation by Dr. Vivek Kumar, NIF, Gujarat. The talk was followed by an interaction session during which students interacted with the speaker
2) 1016-17 Field visit The Field visit of the final year BSc Botnay students were conducted from Conducted from 9th to 14th January 2017.
3) 2017-18 Photo Exhibition:- an exhibition of photos drawn by Prof. V.S. Joseph, former HOD, Botany was held on 9th December, 2017.
4) 2017-18 Field visit: - The study tour of the final year BSc Botany students were conducted from Conducted from 15th to 19th January 2018.
5) The department has conducted world environment day celebrations and planted a tree in the campus on June 5-2018.
6) Field visit 2018-19 :- The study tour of the final year BSc Botany students was conducted from 21st to 25th January 2019.
7) One day seminar for BSc. Botany students on “Gender awareness in-to action” on 4th March 2020.
8) Field visit 2019-20 was conducted on 18th June 2019.
9) The department of Botany organized a webinar in the topic “Farm bill 2020 and Rubber sector” on 14th October 2020. The webinar talk was given by Joby Joseph, Scientist from Economic division of Rubber Research Institute of India.
The webinar was conducted in Google meet and was live streamed via YouTube channel and SGC Channel. A total of 112 participants attended the webinar via google meet alone.
