The Department of Malayalam offers Common Course Malayalam (Additional Language) to various Under Graduate courses in the college. The department conducts classes for B.A., B.Sc. And B.Com. Model I and Model II courses. The department follows the academic calendar of Mahatma Gandhi University. Apart from traditional classroom lecturing methods, assignments and group discussions are encouraged to develop an interest for Malayalam language and literature among the students of various disciplines.
The internal evaluation of the students in each semester is done based on the assignments submitted (at least 2) and the internal examinations. Model exams are conducted to train students to face the end semester examinations. Also, virtual online platforms like Google Classroom, Google Meet etc. are utilised to provide additional academic information to the students. Recorded video lectures and notes in PDF format are uploaded in Google Classroom platform for the easy accessibility of students. Online streaming platforms like YouTube is utilised for uploading classroom/academic lectures, which are widely accepted by the students of other colleges affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University.
